职位名称 : REGIONAL CO-ORDINATOR FOR ASIA

需求 : A. Formal Education
The position requires of a professional with university degree in a relevant discipline
such as forestry, business studies, social sciences, natural resource management,
development or environmental sciences.
An advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.
If formal education does not include forestry, demonstrable professional experience
in forest management issues is required.
B. Professional Experience and Special Qualifications
At least five years in a relevant senior position in the region concerned.
A successful track record in fundraising.
At least three years experience of project management, budget handling,
supervision of staff and consultants.
Regional forestry and natural resource management knowledge.
Experience in more than one of the countries of the region assigned.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in one or more local languages of the
assigned region.
Good spoken and written English.
Good communication skills, particularly in relation to multiple stakeholder groups
(e.g. NGOs, industry, government)..3
Proven ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
Proven ability to work successfully as part of a team.
Knowledge and experience of participatory decision-making and collaborative
problem solving preferred.
责任 : II. POSITION DESCRIPTION
A. Strategic tasks
Actively fundraise for the strengthening of the FSC Asia regional office and for
National Initiatives in the region.
Establishment of an FSC Asia regional office as funding permits.
Collaboration in the design of general strategies for the development of standards
and the promotion of national initiatives, in co-ordination with other regions and the
FSC International Center, and responsibility for the implementation of planned and
specific strategies within the region.
Preparation of annual workplan and budget for the region, in co-ordination with other
regional co-ordinators and the relevant FSC business units.
Analysis of significant issues and developments at the national or regional level,
including information regarding FSC certification bodies and certified forests.
Actively participate in regional events to promote FSC, to conduct advocacy for FSC
and to represent FSC mission and values in regional and international fora.
Determine training and funding needs for National Initiatives in the assigned region.
Collect information in assigned area of responsibility about new standards
development processes in the region.
Disseminate information regarding standards development, training, funding and
strategic planning to FSC National Initiatives and other FSC Regional Offices..2
B. Management tasks and activities
Identification, support and development of FSC National Initiatives, such as contact
persons and, working groups, as required for the development of national standards
within the region.
Build awareness in the region of the role of FSC standards and certification.
Liaison with FSC members and regional initiatives and organisations in the forest
stewardship sector, for advocacy, the promotion of FSC抯 mission, dissemination of
information about certification and increasing membership.
Identification of training needs and provision of technical assistance for the
development of standards and national initiatives within the region.
Contribute to workshops and information courses as planned.
Promote the FSC Trademarks in the region.
Represent FSC and/or the Secretariat at meetings and to other organisations,
according to established policies.
Liaison with regional governmental organisations and other regional bodies.
Provide technical information for the preparation of reports to donors, and prepare
status reports and updates concerning projects being implemented in the region
Control of all files related to National Initiatives in the region.
Review of FSC membership applications from the region.
Budgetary management of funds assigned to the region.
Support control and approval of official FSC documents translated into local
languages.
Production of regular reports for the FSC Executive Director regarding developments
and progress to meet identified targets within the region.
