The Government has imposed a total ban with immediate effect on rubberwood exports due to shortages faced by the local furniture industry and in an effort to increase the value-added production of timber products.

As i know from the market, there are a huge amount of rubberwood storage in market due to less demand from the overseas. Price of rubbber wood are declining every week due to price competitiveness from Thailand, The rubberwood market now is in a SUPPLY > DEMAND situation. Why are there still "SHORTAGES" in the local market? What are the motive behind?
